About Me
I'm tall, dark and... make your own judgement. Bilaterally symmetrical, if that, or the fact that I can spell it correctly without looking it up, helps. Sorry for the huge block of text, but this site doesn't seem to like line breaks! People who know me think I can be confident, engaging and extroverted - but in reality, I'm just an introvert who can put on a good act when required. I have a good - if quirky - sense of humor. I'm not one of these "Live each day like there is no tomorrow" types. I can't dance like there's no-one watching unless the music is really, really fast, I'm not sure about living like it's heaven on earth as celestial harp music doesn't do it for me, but I would be keen on working like I don't need the money...except the bank might have something to say about that. I don't have a drive to change the world - I'm pretty much on top of my Maslow's hierarchy of needs and I'm just happy enjoying the view. If I had to sum myself up in just a few words, it would have to be along the lines of 'laid back and relaxed' - think of a Hollywood comedy depiction of a stoner, but without the weed. (but I can say a passable "Duuuude" if called upon). I have a geeky nature - I like to know how things work, so I can fix them when they break. As well as being tall enough to change lightbulbs without getting a chair, I can confidently program a VCR or rebuild a computer...but I will admit to having attitude problems with mobile phones that insist on doing things 'their way'! I can carry on a good conversation most of the time, but sometimes you *will* just get a grunt...live with it, its a guy thing and not unique to me, ok! If you are looking for Mr 24/7 socialite party animal...look elsewhere, as that's not my style. I'm better in small groups where you can actually talk with people, rather than standing around making social noises just for the sake of it. Yes, you will find me in the kitchen at parties. I browse the 'alternative' section in record (err, CD) stores (err, torrent sites), while my other musical soft spots include punk, techno, goth, electronica, dance and other eclectic things - at least according to the genre listings in my mp3 collection.
