我眼中的自己

(Published) writer, part-time editor, periodic college instructor (philosophy, history). Love books, ideas, and the arts. Working on my first book. Passionate about social justice causes, environmental protection/restoration, and animal rights/welfare. Recently began studying German (a very part-time thing, since so much else is going on).

Will write more here and add new photos over the next few days or weeks (just joined this site in early September).

Been separated for two years now. Not married in any meaningful sense for two or three years prior to that. Going through the process of a basically amicable but slow-moving divorce. (It's a long story, about which I'll openly answer any questions you may have.)

Been in Rhode Island for three years now. Ended up here kind of by accident (a change that's tied to the aforementioned long story). Interested in relocating overseas, or to Canada, but if that can't be done I plan to move to, and settle down in, Chicago at some point during the next few years. Am open to other possibilities though.

Not yet a paid member here, so for the time being I can't read or send any messages. I have a membership on another singles site, so (not wanting to have to attend to two of them) will subscribe here when that one expires around the end of the month.

Hoping to meet a woman who is seriously intellectual yet unpretentious about it. Someone who would love to go to used bookstores with me. Who feels things deeply, and is kind, gentle, and profoundly compassionate. With a pleasant, good-natured sense of humor. (If possible) a vegetarian; or, at least, vegetarian-friendly.
