I’m an orthopaedic surgeon by trade, which means I spend most of my days fixing what’s broken, with a steady hand and a clear head. I take the work seriously, but not myself too much, I’ve always believed a bit of humour goes a long way, even in a hospital.
When I’m not working, I’m usually outdoors. Sailing is probably where I feel most like myself, just wind, water, and a bit of distance from everything. I ski when I can, and I travel whenever the opportunity presents itself. It keeps life from becoming too narrow.
I was married for seventeen years, we never had children. My wife passed away last year, and that’s changed things in ways I’m still figuring out. These days, I keep things fairly simple, good conversations, time outside, and a decent book at the end of the day.
