About Me

I am from Asia, I 'd like to show you a partial picture of Asia. Being a teacher of literature I 'd like to show you a partial picture of Asia by my essay.

The biggest mistake in my life
The biggest mistake in my life was my marriage. I got married at the age of twenty which I now know was too young. I did not have the experience necessary to take care of a new family. My husband in turn was very immature. He was not serious about his work and very soon he lost his job. He became a heavy smoker and drinker and after only a year of being married we decided to divorce.
The regret I feel for this marriage would not be strong if it had not come to become like a weight around my neck. For you see, there is a strong belief in many Asian cultures that when a woman get married it means she must live and die in the family of her husband, even if she is no longer with him. To add to the difficulties, a married woman can be looked down upon by the rest of the community
Being divorced prevents me from looking for other man. There was a colleague at work who I came to trust and love over a long period of time. But finally he told to me that he wished that nobody had known had been married before. It was then that I lost my belief in flying .Just like in injured bird. I have found it difficult to go out with a man and I am very careful with meeting them. This is the reason that I have remained single. I wonder whether the barrier of social prejudice is an illusion, for women, it is not easy to overcome.

The advantages and disadvantages of living in an extended family
When you are living in an extended family, you can be faced with conflicts that inevitably occur between the different generations and the fears that this conflict can bring It is also clear to say that there are some generation gaps between the children grandparents and parents. For example, you can’t share the same taste and opinion with them because their way of thinking is different from yours. They tend to be conservative and like to impose their ideas on other people. Therefore, you must lack of freedom. They can interfere in all your privacy. In the eyes of them you are not wise enough to make a decision alone and they want you to obey them. Simply, you are their children.
But living with them, you can still find suitable ways to get along well with the older generations. You can learn to understand their likes and dislikesan may also discover in the long run that living in an extended family has many more advantages than disadvantages.
First of all, you can gain a lot of experience from your grandparents and parents who often give you sound advice when difficulties arise. You not only receive spiritual support but you can also receive more practical help. Usually, parents feel more than happy to give a helping hand to their children. The Grandparents, in turn, can gain a lot of happiness from looking after their grandchildren and helping do chores around the house.
Secondly, the older generation is able to maintain the traditional values of the family. These traditions are used as a way of renewing the child’s spirit by creating a cozy atmosphere in the home. In this atmosphere, it is so much easier to educate the child about love, good behavior, and warm heartedness, a sense of responsibility, sacrifice, respect and gratitude. Through this, the child comes to learn the wisdom of these traditions.
In conclusion, it is not so hard to minimize generational conflict if you can just appreciate the experience of life that the older generations can bring to the younger ones.
