Searching and Browsing - Help

Information about browsing and searching for members, including finding and tracking profiles, exploring various listings, managing “Saved Search” and hiding your profile.

Q: How do I search for members?

There are two ways to search for members:

  • Use the “Quick Search” at the top left side of the home page.
  • To do full featured search, click the Search tab and select criteria such as appearance, languages spoken, education, religion, personality, interests, etc., then click “Search”.

With Advanced search we also offer a “Save search as” feature. This enables you to name a search (e.g., 30-somethings in Ukraine, English speakers in Thailand) and save it so you can use it again without having to input the criteria again.

Q: How do I browse for members?

There are many ways to browse your matches: by New Members, Active Recently, New Photo, Updated Recently, Online Now and listings by age or country.

Q: What is Saved Search and how does it work?

Saved Search saves time! Once you specify criteria in Advanced search and name the search (e.g., 30-somethings in Ukraine, English speakers in Thailand), you can launch that search again without having to input the criteria again.

Start by clicking the Search tab at the top of the page and entering your criteria. Scroll down to ”Save search as”, check the box and name the search (e.g., 30-somethings in Ukraine, English speakers in Thailand). This search will now appear in your “Saved Searches” at the top of the Search page. Click on a particular search to run it at any time. You can also click to edit or delete a particular search.

Q: Where can I find my saved searches?

Your Saved Searches are located at the top of the Search page. Click on a particular Saved Search to run it at any time. You can also click to edit or delete a particular search.

Q: How do I remove or edit a Saved Search?

Your Saved Searches are at the top of the Search page. Click on a Saved Search, run the search, then select “Edit this Search” or “Delete Search” at the top right of the search results.

Q: How do I find a profile I've seen before?

You can find all profiles you have seen before in your Hotlist Members You’ve Viewed.

TIP: To make it easier to find someone you are interested in again, add him or her to your Hotlist Members You’ve Hot Listed.

Q: How do I view a member’s profile?

To view a member’s profile, click on the member’s photo or username. You can browse your matches by New Members, Active Recently, New Photo, Updated Recently, Online Now and listings by age or country.

Q: How can I see who is online when I am?

In the middle left of the home page click Online Now or look for “Online Now” under members’ photos as you search.

Q: How I see new members or recently edited profiles?

In the middle of the home page you will see several ways to browse your matches: by New Members, Active Recently, New Photo, Updated Recently and Online Now.

Q: How do I mark profiles I'm interested in?

Add profiles you’re interested in by clicking “Add to Hotlist” on the member’s profile page.

Q: How do I remove my profile from search results or general lists?

If you do not want your profile to show up anywhere in listings, on the Settings page under “Privacy and Visibility” check “Invisible Mode” and click “Save Settings”. With “Invisible Mode” you can still use the site and browse members anonymously; your profile will only be visible to members you contact.

You can also select the lists in which your profile will appear: “Who is Online”, “Search Results” or “General Lists”. Check the box near the list if you want your profile to be visible in it and click “Save Settings”.

Q: What is Profile Rank and how does it affect search results or general lists?

Profile rank is based on activity (e.g., how often you use the site, how many messages you send and receive), a member’s popularity (e.g., how often people visit a profile, number of messages a member receives), and photo quality and ratings assigned by our administrators. Profile rank influences a profile’s position in search results and other lists; profiles with a higher rank appear higher in lists.
