About Me

I’m a thoughtful, curious, and grounded person who values meaning, honesty, purpose, and emotional connection. I’m currently a doctoral student at the University of Virginia and work as a journalist and researcher, which reflects a deeper part of who I am: I care about the world, about people, and about understanding how to make our communities thrive. I want to dedicate my life to making the world a better place, and want to do so alongside an equal partner, who finds purpose in doing the same. Still, all this sounds a bit serious, but you'll find that I can be a bit of a goofball... I value warmth, humour, and everyday joy just as much as ideas. I want to share that multifaceted connection with someone special.

I’m naturally reflective and self-aware (to the point of sometimes being self-deprecating). I believe good relationships are built on honest communication, empathy, and the ability to listen with intention - no matter how difficult that might be in the short-term. I know what I want in life and I’m comfortable expressing it clearly, while still staying open and curious about others. I enjoy deep conversations, but I don’t need everything to be serious. I appreciate playfulness, irony, and moments of lightness. I can be a bit of a “silly goose” when the moment is right, and I think laughter is essential in any lasting loving relationship.

Culture plays a big role in my life. I love music (especially jazz, progressive, and metal, funny enough), cinema, museums, architecture, and literature. I enjoy travelling, learning languages, and discovering new cuisines. I’m multilingual, internationally minded, and comfortable moving between cultures, which has shaped me into someone adaptable, respectful, and open. I lived for 3 years in Latin America, 1 year in Europe, and have been living in the US for my doctorate. I value my homeland, Québec, deeply, and would love to share my culture with my loved one, and would love to have my partner do the same with their culture.

I exercise regularly, don’t smoke, only drink socially or for an event (maybe once a month), and take care of both my physical and mental health. I am currently overweight, but my weight has fluctuated up and down a lot in recent years - I still love working out and eating well, though sometimes I might love food a bit too much. I have a stable income and, although I love travelling, adventure, and doing things outside the norm (like moving to Latin America to become a freelance reporter with little money or connections, which I did), I want a stable and predictable life with someone I love deeply.

More than happy to relocate almost anywhere in the world, and happy to learn a new language (yours!) if applicable. My first language is French, and I am fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and speak some Russian and Haitian Creole (taking classes at the moment).

About My Match

I’m looking for a meaningful, long-term, monogamous relationship. I’m not interested in games, ambiguity, or casual dating. I want to build something real: a partnership based on trust, mutual support, shared curiosity, and affection. I believe relationships should feel like a team; two people facing the world together, growing alongside one another.

I’d like to meet a woman who knows herself. Someone emotionally mature, thoughtful, and comfortable expressing what she wants and needs. Kindness matters deeply to me, as does generosity of spirit. I’m drawn to people who are curious about the world, who enjoy learning, reflecting, and engaging with ideas, but who also appreciate simple pleasures and everyday intimacy in many forms.

Good communication is essential. I value someone who can speak honestly, listen openly, and approach disagreements with empathy rather than defensiveness. I admire humility, emotional intelligence, and the ability to laugh at oneself. A sense of humour is a big plus.

I’m especially drawn to women who care about people and communities, whether through their professional work, personal values, or everyday actions. You don’t need to share my exact interests or background, but I value compassion, social awareness, and a sense of responsibility toward others. Being interested in culture, travel, books, films, or music would be wonderful, but more than anything, I’m interested in how you see the world.

I’m looking for someone who is willing to make things work, to be consistent. I'm not looking for perfection; I want to work as a team (I know this is cliché, but I mean it). Sometimes, teams face problems, but they solve them together, and move forward. I want someone who values loyalty, mutual respect, and building a shared future step by step. I’m open to different paths and places (happy to relocate almost anywhere in the world), and I value flexibility and openness when it comes to building a life together.
